Rectification
Many times a person does not know his or her birth time. Records can be lost, memories are often wrong. If you do not have a birth certificate with the time of birth printed on it, then we will need to rectify your chart. If you are going from a parent's memory; the memory needs to be very clear. If the parents do not feel 100% that the birth time they remember is the correct one, then we need to rectify your information to get the best approximate time.
Why is the time important? One element within the birth chart is the house positions; these are determined by the time of birth and can shift from sign to sign every 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours. Correct placement of the houses lets us know where you will have energetic activation from the location of the planets, luminaries, asteroids, and calculated points.
How do I rectify? I rectify a chart using Kepler's rectification program, part of the Kepler Astrology Software. To run the program effectively, I will ask for key events in a person's life. The more exact the dates, the better; and the more events, the better. Key events include:
- Marriage
- Seperation/Divorce
- Birth of Child/Children
- Death of Parent(s)
- Profound increase (new job, inheritence)
- Profound loss (loss of job, theft)
- Violence done to one's person
- Significant accidents (car wreck, broken bones)
- Significant illnesses
- Surgeries
- New Romances (healthy and unhealthy <adultery>)
- Relocation
